A UD faculty or staff member can request a vendor or guest VPN account by submitting a Guest VPN Access Request form. This form creates a UDIT support ticket that facilitates the account's creation, removal, and renewal (if needed).
The UD sponsor must provide the following information on the form:
-
Name of the department the vendor or guest will work for
- Account Sponsor's name
-
Information regarding the individual for whom vendor or guest access is being requested
-
first and last names
-
email address
-
contact phone number (including area code and, if needed, extension)
-
The name of the company or organization where the vendor or guest works
-
The start and end dates for guest account use
-
Specific campus IP addresses this account will need to access when logged into the VPN
-
Specific services and/or protocols this this account will need to access (RDP, SSH, etc.)
After the Guest VPN account has been created
-
The vendor or guest will be sent:
-
The account sponsor must download and provide the AnyConnect software to the person being given temporary guest access.
-
Guests must use the UDEL-VPN-GUEST group in the AnyConnect VPN application when connecting to the UD VPN. No other group will work with VPN guest accounts.
-
-
The UD sponsor who requested the guest access is responsible for the guest's actions while he or she is using UD's VPN connection.
-
The VPN account will expire at the end of the time requested. If the guest access is required for more than one year, the UD sponsor will need to confirm that the account is still required for the account to remain active. The UDIT support ticket system (TDX) will email a request for the sponsor to confirm the renewal or removal of the Guest/Vendor account 30 days prior to the end date.
