Q. Why do I need to re-enroll my device for access to eduroam Wi-Fi?
A. UD needs to update its eduroam certificate. If your device connects to eduroam, you must install the updated certificate to continue to connect to eduroam.

 

Q. Do all Wi-Fi devices need to re-enroll? 
A. Any devices that registered for eduroam access before October 7, 2019 will need to re-register for eduroam access. 

 

Q. What about my printer/gaming console? 
A. Browserless devices like printers and gaming consoles that use the UD Devices Wi-Fi network are not affected by this change.

 
Q. When will my device lose access to the eduroam network?
A. On October 21, 2019 at 6:30am. You can avoid losing network connectivity by completing these steps before October 21:
  1. On your device: forget the eduroam network.
  2. Re-enroll your device for eduroam network access
 
Q. What if I don't re-enroll my device for eduroam access by October 21 at 6:30AM?
A. Your device will lose access to the network until you complete these steps:
  1. On your device: forget the eduroam network.
  2. Re-enroll your device for eduroam network access

Q. I'm currently at another educational institution and am using eduroam. Will my device(s) lose access to the network?
A. Yes.Your device(s) will lose connectivity to the eduroam wi-fi network after 6:30 am on the October 21. You can prevent loss of network connectivity by completing these steps before Oct 21:
  1. Connect to a network connection other than eduroam Wi-Fi.
  2. On your device: forget the eduroam network.
  3. Re-enroll your device for eduroam network accessRemember, the Get Started at UD wi-fi access point is not available off-campus, so you need to connect to another non-eduroam network to complete the steps.
 
 
Q. Can I re-enroll my device for eduroam access from off-campus?
A. Yes. You can re-enroll your device by:
  1. On your device: forget the eduroam network.
  2. Re-enroll your device for eduroam network accessRemember, the Get Started at UD wi-fi access point is not available off-campus, so you need to connect to another non-eduroam network to complete the steps.
 
 
Q. Will the eduroam Wi-Fi refresh affect users from other institutions that are using UD eduroam Wi-Fi?
A. No, user devices from other institutions that connect to UD eduroam Wi-Fi will not be affected.
