Project Intake Request

Tags project PMO

Who can use it?

Students, Faculty, Staff

Requests must be submitted by a faculty sponsor or supervisor on behalf of a student.

What is it?

The Project Intake Request Form will be the starting point for all project requests that involve UDIT. It captures the key details needed for the PMO to conduct an initial review and prepare the request for approval to Initiate. The form collects information including the project title, sponsor, requester, business driver, proposed start and finish dates, problem and proposed solution, requestor priority level, compliance or financial risks, staffing needs, and funding status.

Submitting the form does not imply acceptance.  The intake process is designed to promote equity and transparency by applying consistent selection criteria and review procedures to all submissions.  Once submitted, the project request will be reviewed and prioritized.  For more information about how projects are reviewed and prioritized, send an inquiry to it-pmo@udel.edu.

The PMO's level of involvement varies based on the nature and complexity of the effort. There are three pillars of PMO involvement:

  • Driven – The PMO leads and manages the project directly, providing a dedicated Project Manager and overseeing all lifecycle activities
  • Involved – PMO provides support and oversight; project workstreams are led by the requesting team with PMO participation
  • Aware – The PMO is informed of the effort for portfolio visibility and tracking purposes but does not actively manage the work
