IMPORTANT NOTE
Parted Magic should only be downloaded and used by an IT Professional or other qualified University department such as the IT Support Center.
Talk to your departmental IT Professional (if your department has one) or contact the IT Support Center before downloading or using Parted Magic on UD equipment. Incorrectly burning a disk image for this boot cd could irreparably damage your PC.
Also, for earlier versions of Windows, you may need to download disc burning software.
Windows 7 and later
- Download the .iso file from the Parted Magic website, but do not try to open it. Burn the .iso file (aka disc image) to a blank disc.
- Insert a blank disc (e.g. CD, DVD, BD) into your Windows computer.
- Find the .iso file in Windows Explorer and right-click.
- From the drop-down menu, select Open with... and click Windows Disk Image Burner.
- You will see the Burn Disc Image dialog box.
- From the drop-down menu next to Disc burner: select the drive where your blank CD, DVD, or BD is located--e.g., CD R Drive (F:).
- Select the Verify disc after burning checkbox.
- Click Burn.
- When the .iso has finished burning to the disc, click Close and eject the disc from the computer.
