Technology Request Overview for Requesters

This documentation is for users who need to submit a Technology Request. For a brief overview of the process, watch this Technology Request Tutorial

If you have questions, email the IT Project Management Office at it-pmo@udel.edu.

University of Delaware Information Technology (UDIT) is providing a Technology Request process to assist University members with pursuing technology solutions that help fulfill business needs by evaluating the solution’s alignment with the University’s current security, accessibility, regulatory and compliance standards. The Technology Request process provides centralized communications, access to technological expertise and guidance, and coordinated support from UDIT and other campus collaborators, such as Procurement, Office of General Counsel (OGC), Treasury Office, Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (IRE), etc.

The Requester will submit the Technology Request form whenever there is a need to:

  • Purchase a new technology solution,
  • Renew an existing technology solution,
  • Assess / consult on potential technology solutions or business processes (for example, pursue an RFP / RFI, engage in technical discovery, or ready to launch a project with technology components)
  • Request UDIT specialist support for integration assistance.
  • Request to add-on/plug-in/extension for an existing technology solution.

The IT-PMO will triage each Technology Request submission and assign the appropriate review / approval actions based on the type and complexity of the  request. For complex or unknown solutions, or when additional information is needed, the IT-PMO may schedule a Technology Request Discovery Call to allow interactive discussions to occur between the requestor and other relevant groups.
