Exchange Online: Mobile Devices

Outlook for Android and iPhone can be downloaded and installed from the Google Play or the App Store.

Click one of the links below to see directions for setting up your device for Microsoft Exchange Online. Microsoft Outlook is the preferred client for use with Microsoft Exchange. Shared mailboxes and online archiving will not work with mac Mail.


Outlook for Android

  1. Download and install the Outlook app from the Play Store.
  2. Open the Outlook app and click Get Started
  3. Outlook will search your phone for other mail accounts that are already set up. If you see this screen, click Skip.
  4. Enter your full UD email address and click Add Account.
  5. If your Google account from udel.edu is displayed on the screen, click Not Google.
  6. Choose Office 365 from the list of options.

Outlook for iOS

IOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5

  1. Download the Outlook app from the app store.
  2. Open the Outlook app and click Get Started.
  3. Outlook will search your iPhone for other mail accounts that are already set up. If you see the screen below, tap Skip.

1 account found--add account

  1. Enter yourUdelNetID@udwin.mail.onmicrosoft.com. For example, user J.D. Tester with UDelNetID jdtester would log in as jdtester@udwin.mail.onmicrosoft.com
  2. Tap Add Account.
  3. Tap Office 365.
  4. Provide your UD password and your Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) approval or code as prompted.
  5. Tap Maybe Later in the Add Another Account window.
  6. Your account is ready for use in the Outlook app.

Previous versions of IOS and iPadOS

  1. Download the Outlook app from the app store.
  2. Open the Outlook app and click Get Started.
  3. Outlook will search your iPhone for other mail accounts that are already set up. If you see the screen below, tap Skip.

Apple Mail on iOS 16

  1. Go to Settings - Mail - Accounts. ​​​​
  2. Click Add Account.
  3. Tap Microsoft Exchange.
  4. Type in your full UD email address (username@udel.edu) and click Next.
  5. A pop-up window will appear stating that your email address will be sent to Microsoft to get your account information. Tap Sign In.
