Outlook for Android and iPhone can be downloaded and installed from the Google Play or the App Store. Before you begin these instructions, make sure that you have the most recent version of Outlook on your device.
Click one of the links below to see directions for setting up your device for Microsoft Exchange Online. Microsoft Outlook is the preferred client for use with Microsoft Exchange. Shared mailboxes and online archiving will not work with mac Mail.
- Download and install the Outlook app from the Play Store.
- Open the Outlook app and click Add Account.
- Enter your full UD email address and click Add Account.
- When your account is found, your full email address appears with Microsoft 365 listed under the address. Click CONTINUE.
- When your Google account from udel.edu is displayed on the screen, click Not Google.
- Choose Microsoft 365 from the list of options.
- You will be directed to a UD branded page as shown below. Enter your password.
- If prompted, provide your Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Outlook is now set up. You may be shown some informational screens which you can skip.
Note: You may wish to customize Outlook.
- Signature: The default signature is "Get Outlook" with a link to download. To change it, click on the quick menu, click the settings gear icon at the bottom and click Signature. Edit as needed.
- Focused inbox: The default is to show a focused inbox. That will separate out messages by groups of senders. To change this, open the quick menu, click the gear icon at the bottom and turn off focused inbox.

IOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5
- Download the Outlook app from the app store.
- Open the Outlook app and click Get Started.
- Outlook will search your iPhone for other mail accounts that are already set up. If you see the screen below, tap Skip.
- Enter yourUdelNetID@udwin.mail.onmicrosoft.com. For example, user J.D. Tester with UDelNetID jdtester would log in as jdtester@udwin.mail.onmicrosoft.com
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Office 365.
- Provide your UD password and your Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) approval or code as prompted.
- Tap Maybe Later in the Add Another Account window.
- Your account is ready for use in the Outlook app.
Previous versions of IOS and iPadOS
- Download the Outlook app from the app store.
- Open the Outlook app and click Get Started.
- Outlook will search your iPhone for other mail accounts that are already set up. If you see the screen below, tap Skip.
- Enter your full UD email address and tap Add Account.
- You may be directed to the UD Google log in page. Do not enter your log in information on that page. Instead, click Done in the top left corner.
- Tap Set Up Account Manually.
- Select Office 365
- Enter your password and approve the sign in request.

- Go to Settings - Mail - Accounts.
- Click Add Account.
- Tap Microsoft Exchange.
- Type in your full UD email address (username@udel.edu) and click Next.
- A pop-up window will appear stating that your email address will be sent to Microsoft to get your account information. Tap Sign In.
- Enter your UDelNet password, and tap Done.
- Tap Sign in.
- If prompted for MFA: check the Don't as again for 28 days box, and then provide your MFA code or approval.
- Choose which iOS apps you would like to use with your Exchange account, and tap Save.
