Password change reminders

  • Passwords must be changed every 15 months as a Secure UD best practice.
  • Thirty days before your password is set to expire, you will begin seeing a warning message when you log in to a University account or service. Change your password at My UD Settings to avoid inconvenience later.
  • If you do not change your password before it expires, you can change it by doing one of the following:
    • Follow the link to My UD Settings provided in the password expiration notice on CAS.
    • Use the Forgot my password service.
    • Contact the appropriate administrator (Registrar, departmental HR liasion, etc.) to reset your password.
  • After your password has expired, you will not be able to log in to University online services until you have changed your password.

Change your saved password

When you change your password, remember to update your UDelNet password anyplace you have saved it. You'll need to log in with your new password to all the services where you had saved your password, like Google Apps email, Exchange, or Canvas.

Applications you may need to update include the following:

  • Google Apps - including Google mail
  • Canvas
  • Eduroam: if a device cannot connect to eduroam after a password reset, you will need to forget the eduroam network and reconnect following the instructions on these help pages.
  • Exchange Online
  • Email clients (for example, Thunderbird, macOS X mail, and Outlook)
  • Network drives
  • VPN.
