NotebookLM (Google)
NotebookLM is an AI-powered research and writing assistant designed to help you understand and synthesize information contained within your own documents. NotebookLM is like having AI for your restricted set of information.

NotebookLM is a Google core service and is part of UD Google workspace. You must be 18 years of age or older to use NotebookLM.

You can use NotebookLM from a web browser, or you can download and use the NotebookLM app on your Android or iOS devices.

AI is not trained on any data that is stored in an educational account. Uploads, queries, and responses in your account will not be reviewed by human reviewers.

NotebookLM is an evolving service that is subject to change, and includes some beta features that are not guaranteed to work as expected or to stay.
Capabilities:

Source Grounding: Analyzes and works exclusively with the documents, notes, and other sources (PDFs, Google Docs, text files, copied text, website URLs) you link or upload to a notebook.

Chat with your notebook: Answers questions based only on the information contained within your sources.

Summarization: Creates summaries of individual sources or synthesizes information across multiple sources, including audio summaries.

No General Web Knowledge: Does not access the live internet for general knowledge or real-time information beyond the specific website URLs you provide as sources. Its knowledge is strictly confined to the uploaded documents.

Source Dependency: Accuracy and usefulness are heavily dependent on the quality, clarity, and content of the source materials you provide. It cannot know what isn't in the sources.

Source Limits and Daily Limits: There is 100 notebook limit (up to 20 million words per notebook), each with up to 50 sources (up to 500K words each). You can have 50 chat queries and 3 audio generations per day. Note: these limits may evolve).

No External Actions: NotebookLM cannot perform actions outside the application, like sending emails, browse unrelated websites, or interact with other software.
Paid Version - NotebookLM Plus (Google)
This is part of the Gemini paid license (Gemini Education Premium) and includes the same core features as NotebookLM, but also includes:

Zoom AI Companion
Zoom AI Companion will be available to UD Zoom accounts on January 30th, 2025.
Zoom AI Companion has two main components: (1) an in-meeting assistant that can generate automatic meeting summaries and allow real-time questions about the ongoing discussion, all aimed at improving meeting comprehension and follow-up actions, and (2) an out-of-meeting panel with a natural language prompt to serve as a virtual personal assistant, including helpful suggested prompts to get you started. You’ll have access to create smart recordings with highlighted chapters, assistance with whiteboards by generating content based on conversation topics, creating team chat summaries, and more.
