University Generative AI Services List

Services soon to be available

The University has existing contracts for services with Google and Microsoft that explicitly contain data security and privacy agreements. These companies provide free and paid access to generative AI services.

As services begin to expand, this list will be updated to reflect new vendors and their features.

Microsoft Copilot:

Copilot Pro (Paid)

  • Performance and Access: Priority access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo, even during peak times.

  • Image Generation: 100 daily boosts for AI image generation with DALL-E 3.

  • Integration with Microsoft 365 Apps: Seamless integration with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.

  • Advanced Features: Advanced capabilities, including creating custom Co-pilot GPTs with the GPT Builder.

  • Use Case Scenarios: Ideal for users with heavy Microsoft 365 app usage who need seamless integration and advanced features.

Free Version - (Currently Available - http://copilot.cloud.microsoft)

  • Performance and Access: Access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo during non-peak times; may revert to GPT-3.5 during high demand.

  • Image Generation: 15 daily boosts for AI image generation.

  • Integration with Microsoft 365 Apps: No integration with Microsoft 365 apps; manual steps required to transfer output.

  • Advanced Features: Basic functionalities; no custom GPT creation.

  • Use Case Scenarios: Suitable for users needing essential AI functionalities with a web-based interface.

Shared Features:

  • AI-Powered Assistance: Both versions offer access to OpenAI's GPT-4 and DALL-E 3, allowing users to generate text and images, upload images, summarize text, perform web searches, code creation, data analysis, and generate summaries or suggestions from files.

  • Availability: Free version is currently available at https://copilot.cloud.microsoft, through the CoPilot mobile application, and integrated within Windows OS

  • Core Capabilities: Advanced reasoning, problem-solving, long-form content generation, and coding.

  • Speed: Prioritized for faster responses and efficient resource use.

  • Advanced Features: Exclusive access to Gemini Advanced with superior performance and the ability to interact with multiple file formats.

  • Support: Dedicated support with faster, personalized assistance.

  • Usage Limits: Higher limits or more flexibility in usage.

  • Integration: Deep integration with Google Workspace and other Google services such as Mail, Docs, and Slides.

Free Version:  (Currently Available - https://gemini.google.com)

  • Core Capabilities: Strong foundational models, but may have some limitations.

  • Speed: Potentially slower or rate-limited under heavy loads.

  • Advanced Features: Limited access to the most advanced capabilities.

  • Support: General support with possibly longer wait times.

  • Usage Limits: May have stricter limits on usage and task complexity.

  • Integration: Limited integration with Google services.

Shared Features:

  • AI-Powered Assistance:Natural language understanding, text generation, web search, translation, summarization, question answering, upload and create images, and create code.
