Configure GMail on your computer or mobile device

You can configure your email client (for example, Outlook, Thunderbird or Mac Mail) or smartphone to access your UD Google Workspace email account.

• Microsoft Outook: Use these directions to setup Microsoft Outlook with your UD GMail account. 
• iPhone, iPad or macOS mail: Add UD Google Workspace account to your iPhone, iPad. or macOS mail app.
• Android devices: Use these directions to connect your Android device to your UD Google Workspace account.
• Mozilla Thunderbird: Use the settings on this page to connect your UD Gmail account with Thunderbird.

You must also complete both of the following steps to be able to use GMail with Thunderbird:

• Obtain your Google Apps at UD password.
• Enable IMAP in Google Apps at UD Mail by doing the following:
  • Sign in through googleapps.udel.edu.
  • Click the gear icon at the top of the Gmail page.
  • Select Gmail settings.
  • Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  • Select Enable IMAP.
  • Save your changes.

If you are unsure whether your mobile device is an Android™ or an iPhone®, check your provider's Web site for your model. Following are some common providers:
