The College of Arts & Sciences Communications team is here to help you create and maintain effective, accessible web content. To ensure your request is handled smoothly, please follow the steps below.
 

When Requesting a New Web Page

Before submitting your request, think through the following:

• Audience & Purpose:
  Who is the page for? What do you want them to learn or do after visiting the page?

• Content Accessibility:
  Plan to provide text and images that meet digital accessibility standards, using:
  • Short, clear sections
  • Subheadings
  • Bulleted or numbered lists
     
• Events:
  If your request is for an event page:
  • Step 1: Create an event listing in the UD Events Calendar.
  • In many cases, this is all you need, the listing will automatically appear on College and department landing pages.
  • A separate event web page is only created if there’s a specific need beyond the calendar listing.
     
• Vanity URLs for Printed Materials:
  If the page link will be printed on flyers, posters, or other physical materials, you may need a shorter, more memorable “vanity URL.” If you will only be linking to the page via email, social or other digital means then a vanity URL is not needed.
  • These take up to two weeks to create so please request it early.

 

When Requesting Edits to an Existing Page

If you need changes to a current page, please provide:

• The page link/URL

A detailed description of each edit needed. Please do not send an attachment of a screenshot with handwritten edits.
(e.g., text updates, image replacements, adding/removing sections)

 

Accessibility & Content Guidelines

Whether it’s a new page or an update, all web content should:

• Be digitally accessible for all users

• Use clear headings to break up text

• Present information in digestible chunks

• Include bulleted or numbered lists when possible

• Use descriptive link text (avoid “click here”)
