FLD (FLDE)

This article highlights the FLD communication code assigned with the FLDE speed key.

What:

• FLD is a PeopleSoft communication letter code used for automated financial aid email communication.

When: 

• The QBU process to assign communication takes place daily at 7:00am
• The ComGen process to send outstanding assigned communication takes place daily at 8:00am

Where:

• Query Based Updater: Menu > Query Based Updater
• Communication Generation: Menu > Campus Community > Communications
• Communication Management: Menu > Campus Community > Communications > Person Communications

Why:

• This letter code is used to send notification about loan disbursement / loan disbursement changes. 

How:

• The communication is assigned using a QBU process with the run control QBU_LOAN_DISB_COMM
• The communication is sent using a ComGen process with the run control COMM_FLOANS_FLD

Who:

• The QBU run control is run under SA_SCHED. System Analysts will work with IT when the run control needs to be paused or updated.
• The ComGen run control is run under account number 702050948.

Other Notes:

• The QBU queries rely on the AY_ACTIVE_DISB tree node, which will need to be updated each year. 
• The QBU and ComGen processes are currently run under separate accounts. This was because of an issue where FLD communications were failing to send. During testing SFS asked SA_SCHED to pause the ComGen run control on their end so that we could have more control over the run time. Testing lead us to believe it was a timing issue.
