Joining a UD Zoom meeting as a guest

This article covers how to join a UD Zoom meeting if you do not have a Zoom Pro account from the University of Delaware.

If you already have a Zoom account

If you already have a Zoom account with another organization, you only need to make sure that your Zoom application is updated to the latest version before joining the meeting. Some old versions of Zoom will prevent you from joining a meeting at UD. Download the latest Zoom client.

Note: Beginning November 1, 2021, in order to join a Zoom meeting you will be required to update your Zoom software to ensure it is no more than nine months behind the current version at any given time.

If you are experiencing technical issues with a device that you do not own, contact the IT support center at your organization.

If you do not have a Zoom account

If you do not have an existing Zoom account, you can still join a meeting as a participant without  creating an account.  To join the meeting, click the Zoom link provided by the host. Meeting links begin with https://udel.zoom.us/…

If you are experiencing technical issues, contact the UDIT Support Center at (302) 831-6000.

Tips for using Zoom as a guest

  • Make sure to test your equipment and connection prior to joining the meeting. Join a Zoom test meeting.

  • Update your Zoom application (if you have one) ahead of time--some updates may take a few minutes to complete and you may not be able to use the application during the update process.
