New Service Validation Checklist

Summary

Perform a final technical and user-experience quality check in the Sandbox environment to confirm that forms, workflows, and knowledge articles are accurate and ready for institutional use. Service Owners use these criteria to verify that every service is intuitive and functional before providing official sign-off for production.

Body

Before a service transitions to the Production environment, it must undergo a final validation in the TeamDynamix (TDX) Sandbox to ensure it is technically functional and provides a high-quality experience for your end-users.

Service Owners are the primary point of accountability; their sign-off confirms that the service description, request form, and backend workflows are intuitive, accurate, and ready for institutional use. This checklist provides a guide to verifying that all requirements, from user-facing notifications to internal reporting and support documentation, are fully met before setting an official go-live date.

Sandbox Testing Checklist

Service Description

  • ☑ Ensure the service page reads clearly and defines who can use it, what it is, where to get it, how to use it, and any charges or fees.

Service Form

  • ☑ Field accuracy - validate that all required fields (e.g., Requestor, Sponsor, Department) are present and correctly captured.
  • ☑ Make sure all form dependencies work as expected.
  • ☑ Confirm the design and presentation (fields, contents, etc.) are clear for the client.

Workflows/Approvals

  • ☑ Test the end-to-end logic to ensure the request moves through the system as intended and that the user experience is intuitive.
  • ☑ Verify that all automated approval steps are triggering correctly and are being routed as intended.
  • ☑ Verify all user-facing notifications (submission, approval, completion) are accurate and clear.

Knowledge Articles

  • ☑ Confirm at least one new or existing knowledge article providing service support has been linked to the service and that this material is published and visible to the applicable clients and support users.

Dashboards

  • ☑ Confirm required data is being captured for reporting and compliance.
  • ☑ Confirm dashboards are set up and display data as expected.
