Service Recognition
The Service Recognition Program honors employee service to the University of Delaware at five-year intervals when employees may select from a special gift collection. The University honors our recent retirees with a gift from the Retirement Collection. Learn more about the program at udel.edu/udidit.
Service Recognition milestones are:
- Recognized for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 years of service.
- Only for benefit-eligible employees.
- Years of service are based only on benefited employment time.
- Student and miscellaneous wage employment do not count toward years of service.
- Unpaid breaks-in-service do not count toward the total years of service.
- Faculty sabbaticals are not breaks-in service (and count toward years of service).
Selecting a Milestone Anniversary Gift
UD uses vendor partner, O.C. Tanner to provide a wide selection of gifts for each service recognition year.
- You will be invited to select a gift on the date of your service anniversary.
- You will receive an email with a link to the online catalog from udidit@culturecloud.com.
- Shipping of service recognition gifts is limited to U.S. locations.
- Service Recognition selections must be made within 60 days of your anniversary date.

Selecting a Retirement Gift

- Shipping of retirement gifts is limited to U.S. locations. '
- Retirement gifts must be selected within 60 days of retirement date.

UDid It! Platform and Hen High Five
UDid It! Platform
The UDid It! platform is an online recognition hub that allows employees to easily send notes of gratitude to their colleagues. Peer-to-peer recognition strengthens connections, and increased manager visibility ensures contributions are seen across teams.
How to Access The UDid It! Platform
- Visit udel.edu/udidit
- Click “visit the udid it! platform”
- Log-in using our UD CAS credentials
Information Shared on the UDid It! Platform
- You and your manager will have access to view your Hen High Five messages (sent and received).
- Your anniversary date (without the year) will be displayed in your UDid It! profile.
Currently, only full-time UD faculty and staff have access to the UDid It! platform. To send recognition to misc-wage employees, please use our Hen High Five form: https://forms.office.com/r/ZTjmvugwEz
Hen High Five
Hen High Fives are notes of gratitude that can be shared as a virtual eCard through the UDidIt! Platform.
Sending Hen High Fives through the UDidIt! Platform:
- Creates an archive of your sent and received eCards that makes it easy to see recognition all in one place. This archive can be helpful for supporting annual performance reviews and helps your colleagues feel seen, heard and valued.
- Makes it easy to copy managers, leaders and team mates to notes of gratitude.
How to send a Hen High Five
- Visit udel.edu/udidit
- Click “visit the udid it! platform”
- Log-in using our UD CAS credentials
- Select “Recognize” and follow the on-screen prompts
- You can help make your High Five message more meaningful by:
- Being specific (what exactly did the recipient contribute?)
- Being genuine (how did their contribution create impact?)
How to I View a Hen High Five
You will be notified via email when you receive a Hen High Five or “eCard.” Follow the link in your email to view your message or log-in to the UDid It! Platform to see all of your Hen High Fives in one place.
