Major Finder Pages: Update Existing or Request New

Summary

Each year, CAS departments are asked to review their Major Finder pages for accuracy and may submit a Communications Work Request Form to update existing content or request a new page to ensure prospective students receive up-to-date, compelling information.

Body

Each year, department leadership at the University of Delaware is asked to review and update the content of their department's Major Finder page. These pages are often the first point of contact for prospective students exploring academic programs at UD, and it's vital that they reflect current offerings, opportunities, and the distinctiveness of each major.

What Is the Major Finder?

The Major Finder is an online resource showcasing undergraduate academic programs at UD. Each page includes:

  • A dynamic headline and introductory paragraph

  • Detailed descriptions of areas of study, career opportunities, and student organizations

  • A section on what makes the program unique

  • Sample curriculum broken down by academic year

  • Engaging media content (photos or a video with captions)

Why Are Annual Edits Important?

These pages serve as a digital front door to UD's academic offerings. Inaccurate or outdated information can mislead prospective students or misrepresent the strengths of your program. Timely updates help ensure that:

  • Prospective students receive accurate, appealing information

  • Departments showcase new or evolving concentrations, courses, or student engagement opportunities

  • Photos and videos reflect the current student body and facilities

How to Request Edits or a New Page

If your department's page needs updates or a new Major Finder page, please submit a Communications Work Request Form.
